Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit Earlybird Registration Ends February 15

Feb. 8, 2011—Minnetonka, MN—Walleye anglers have one week left to cash in on great perks through the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit’s earlybird registration.

Although registration for all nine qualifiers on the 2012 trail remains open through the Sunday before each event, the Circuit’s “Premier Team” earlybird program closes Wednesday, February 15th. Premier Teams enjoy convenient installment billing options, priority entry in all events, and qualify for the Okuma Premier Contingency, which awards $1,000 in great Okuma tackle packages at each qualifier.

Plus, Premiers enjoy great odds of qualifying for the no-entry-fee, $100,000 2013 World Walleye Championship at Escanaba, Michigan, which carries a $25,000 first-place check. Premiers are allotted 25 of the 45 total points-based berths (and are eligible for all 45).

To be eligible for the Premier Program, two-person teams must register to fish three or more Cabela’s MWC tournaments on the 2012 trail by the Feb. 15 Premier deadline.

Payouts at Cabela’s MWC qualifying tournaments are based on the number of teams entered in each event. A full field of 200 boats would yield a $30,000 first-place paycheck and more than $100,000 in cash to the top 20 percent of the field. Plus, sponsor contingencies add thousands more at each tournament. Overall in 2011, the MWC paid back more than 120 percent of entry fees in payouts, team of the year awards and winnings in the no-entry-fee Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship.

As another bonus, all teams that fish four qualifying tournaments also compete for the coveted title of Cabela’s MWC Team of the Year. As a result of the MWC eliminating divisions—to give anglers more options in choosing tournaments—even more cash will be available in the 2012 TOTY pot. Overall winners will take home a minimum of $13,500 and the top 10 teams are expected to collect a total of more than $40,000.

The Cabela’s MWC is open to all anglers regardless of club or sponsor affiliation. Single-tournament entries cost $650 per team, and anglers may register by mail, fax, or online.
