Ponca City, Oklahoma – August 5, 2024 – The Bass Pro Shop’s and Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) makes its annual return to Cass Lake, Minnesota on September 13-14, 2024, to round out an amazing year of walleye fishing with The Toughest Anglers On Planet Earth. Lew’s is the Presenting sponsor for this end of season event which has become a staple in the Masters Walleye Circuit Schedule. As a bonus from Lew’s, each angler participating in the Cass Lake Event will be receiving a $100 gift card to be used at Lews.com.

The Cass Lake Chain consists of 8 lakes, Cass Lake being the largest of them. Encompassing over 15,000 acres and being host to a large population of sizable walleyes, it is a premier destination for many of the anglers fishing the Masters Walleye Circuit.

This final event will be the deciding factor for who takes the title of “Team of the Year,” which is currently being led by Ross Hertensteiner and John Hertensteiner, with 609 points. They are being closely tailed by Steve Vandemark and Jerry Fox Jr with 601 points. Those two teams are at the top of the pack with a commanding lead, with Sammy Cappelli and Anthony Naples 35 points behind in the third place spot at 566 points.

Teams consisting of two anglers are allowed to weigh 5 fish over 15 inches, however, there is a slot limiting anglers to one fish over 20 inches per angler in their allotted bags to protect the future of the fishery. Culling is allowed at this event, per state regulations, allowing anglers to upgrade their weights throughout the duration of their fishing time.

Event specifics include a 7:30 am (CST) take-off each day and 3:30 pm (CST) live weigh-in on both September 13th and 14th, 2024. All proceedings will take place at Stony Point Resort, located on the south end of Cass Lake. Spectators are encouraged to join in person, as the weigh-in is free and open to the public or follow the action live online at masterswalleyecircuit.com or on the official Facebook page, facebook.com/MastersWalleyeCircuit.

For anglers looking to compete for “Team of the Year”, and/or gain entry into the World Walleye Championship, it is recommended to fully understand the necessary steps to ensure they are earning points as intended.

MWC pays back more than 100% in cash and prizes each season and each MWC event has a lucrative payout which is based on the number of teams entered. For the entire 2024 season, the winners of each event are GUARANTEED minimum of $10,000 First Place prize, powered by Dakota Lithium. The top 20% of the field at each qualifying event earns a check providing more inspiration to sign up and join the fun. In addition to a hefty check, the first-place team also earns a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s National Team Championship (NTC) prize package including: paid entry, a travel stipend, team jerseys, and plaques. Additionally, the big-fish pot, option-pot and sponsor bonuses from Ranger Cup, Lowrance, Dakota Lithium, and Okuma will add thousands more for distribution among the field.
