Cabela’s MWC Payouts Rich In Cash, Contingencies

January 21, 2011—MINNETONKA, MN—The Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit plans to give away more than $1 million in cash in 2011. Plus, a number of sponsors have added thousands of dollars in contingencies to the payout at each Cabela’s MWC tournament.

In 2011, MWC teams will enjoy Cabela’s Angler Cash, Cabela’s MWC Premier Team, Berkley Baits, Ranger Cup, Lowrance Electronics HDS/Elite DSI, and Worldwide Marine Insurance contingencies adding more than $5,000 to the pot in each event.

Cabela’s Angler Cash
MWC title sponsor Cabela’s, the World’s Foremost Outfitter, upped the ante on its popular Cabela’s Angler Cash Program by doubling the bonus from a $500 to $1,000 Cabela’s gift card awarded to the top-finishing team enrolled in the program at each of the MWC’s nine qualifying tournaments. Cabela’s will reward the top Angler Cash team at the 2011 World Walleye Championship with a $5,000 Cabela’s gift card. Plus, anyone who wins an Angler Cash award at an MWC tournament and was fishing from a boat purchased at Cabela’s gets an additional $500 bonus. In all, the Cabela’s Angler Cash program offers $19,000 in gift cards to MWC anglers this season.

Berkley Baits
Official Sponsor Berkley will reward the top-finishing team using Berkley hard- or softbaits including Gulp!, Gulp! Alive!, PowerBait and Frenzy products with an incredible Berkley Tackle Package valued at $500.

Ranger Cup

Lowrance HDS/Elite DSI

Worldwide Marine Insurance
New to the Cabela’s MWC family of sponsors, Worldwide Marine is offering $500 to the highest-placing MWC team that is insured through Worldwide marine, or a $300 award to the highest finisher that has applied for a boat-insurance quote request. Cabela’s MWC Premier Team Program
Teams that enter all three tournaments in an MWC Division between Jan. 10 and Feb. 14 qualify for the Cabela’s MWC Premier Team Program and enjoy a variety of great additional benefits, including:
Bracket Competition Go head-to-head against other MWC teams throughout the season to qualify for a free invitation to compete in the $100,000 2012 Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship.
MWC Premier Team Contingency $500, $300 and $200 Cabela’s gift cards are awarded to the top three Premier Teams at each MWC qualifying tournament.

In addition to rich payouts and these great contingencies, MWC teams enjoy the added financial incentives of competing for a berth in the Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship. Each season, the MWC’s top teams are invited to our no-entry-fee $100,000 World Walleye Championship, to battle for ultimate bragging rights and a $25,000 first-place check.

MWC anglers also have the option of entering the Big Fish Pot, which pays cash awards for the top three walleyes each tournament day. For example, at the Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin, circuit stop in 2010, the Big Fish Pot paid a total of $3,400.
